Katie Czeipel - Senior Captain

Katie's parents are Ron and Janet Czepiel. Her brothers are Mike and Jeff.

She is an outstanding scholar and high honors student.

She looks to Albert Einstein for inspiration and relishes the quote : "What counts isn't always counted and whats counted doesn't always count."

Cross Country '07 - Katie is in her 7th consecutive season of running. After a year plagued by injuries, Katie spent a summer of gradual build-up - poised for a healthy and productive season. She is rounding into her best shape, running PR's her last two meets including a 23:36 at the State Coaches Invitational.
Spring Track '07 - Katie was forced to sit out most of the season with injuries.
Indoor Track '07 - Katie came heartbreakingly close to state qualifying in the 1000M in many races. She also showed potential in the 600M.
Cross Country '06 - Katie lettered in XC for the first time. Her race against KP and Mansfield was inspirational - but painful. On KP's course she exited the woods right behind Sara Krasney but had outrun her fitness. Only her incredible will allowed her to finish the race. It is rare to see an athlete to draw as deeply "to the well" as much as Katie did that day.
Spring Track '06 - After opening the season with a near state-qualifying 800M she was injured and sat out most of the year.
Indoor Track '06 - Katie received her varsity letter.
Cross Country '05 - Katie ran in the #5 position for North in every meet except the one she placed 4th. She blossomed just in time for the Hockomock League Championship where she placed 28th overall - helping NA to a third place finish. Her time of 19:03 at the Hockomock League Invitational makes her one of NA's fastest frosh of all-time.
Previous sports : Besides running, Katie has played softball and volleyball.
Accomplishments : Katie has received special recognition for her volunteer work in the community.
Coach's Comments - Katie's improvements have been nothing short of outstanding. She is a hard-nosed runner, plugging away to faster times almost every meet. She runs best when the team needs her most - leaving absolutely no gas in the tank at the end of her races.
