Students must receive permission from the physical education department to elect this course. They must submit their request to the Director of Physical Education. Students wishing to elect this course are encouraged to discuss this with their current physical education teacher and guidance counselor.

There is a limit of thirty (30) students per semester. They are selected based on leadership potential, enthusiasm, previous physical education grades and ability to cooperate with the staff. Students must elect both semesters unless prohibited by scheduling problems .

Students explore leadership models in a physical activity setting. They help to organize and direct underclassmen. Leaders provide a positive role-model and a helping hand to the physical education staff.

The course includes physical activity, daily student interaction, written assignments, three required after-school meetings and a final project.

This course meets school expectations #'s 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8.
